FERRY RAN AGROUND ON REEFS TWICE IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS.

Ferry SABUK NUSANTARA 62 ran aground on the reefs twice in less than 48 hours, in Raja Ampat Regency waters, West Papua, Indonesia. First grounding occurred at around 0200 UTC Feb 2, when ferry was sailing from Sorong to Waisilip Village. She was refloated, probably by own means, shortly after grounding, and resumed voyage. Second time ferry ran aground while being en route from Waisilip to Gag Island, on reefs in Gag Island waters at 1500 UTC Feb 3, having 50 passengers on board. Understood ferry was again, refloated, but detained at Gag, for investigation and assessment of damages inflicted upon reefs.
