REEFER GROUNDING, NORTH PACIFIC

Reefer DANIDIN while anchored in Russkaya Bay, eastern coast of Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia, Pacific, drifted onto shallow bank in strong wind conditions, on Jan 18. At the time of grounding, reefer was loading fish production from moored alongside fishing vessel. Reefer starboard rested on bottom, but there were no bashing against bottom and no propeller damages. SAR tug RUBIN arrived from Petropavlovsk, reefer was refloated on Jan 20 with high water. Underwater survey found damages, no water ingress was reported, reefer left Bay on Jan 20, bound for Vladivostok, Primorye, Japan sea.
