Tanker WISDOM, anchored off Banias, Syria, reportedly suffered fire in engine room in the afternoon May 9, which was quickly put out by the crew. Muhammad al-Sousi, a director in the Syrian Company for Oil Transport, told the Syrian Arab News Agency that the explosions were caused by an engine malfunction.
“A technical failure occurred in one of the engines of an oil tanker anchored off the town of Banias, which led to a minor fire and the appearance of black smoke from the tanker,”
WISDOM hit the news on Apr 24 after she suffered explosion and fire in cargo tank during wielding works, 3 people died in that accident, described by many media as an Israeli missile or drone attack.
