1.Fresh water generator Ejector sea water pump over current trip
Causes:
Pump is drawing high current & over current relay is tripping the breaker.
Remedial Actions:
Isolate the pump and rotate the shaft by hand. Check for possible reason of tight rotation. Check the electrical circuit for any possible fault.
2. Fresh water generator Ejector sea water pump suction filter choked
Causes:
Suction pressure will be less than normal. In extreme condition suction pressure will be zero.
Remedial Actions:
Isolate the pump & clean the filter.
3. Fresh water generator Ejector sea water pump worn out
Causes:
Suction pressure will show suction head. Pump will not build any pressure. Fresh water generator will not develop any vacuum.
Remedial Actions:
Isolate the pump & overhaul it.
4. Fresh water generator vacuum is less
Causes:
- Difference between the inlet & outlet jacket cooling water temperature.
- Air ingress in the system.
- Faulty Ejector pump.
- Fouled air ejector
Remedial Actions:
Identify cause & rectify same.
5. Fresh water hydrophore pump breaker faulty
Causes:
Breaker is tripping. It is not holding at ON position.
Remedial Actions:
Operate the system with standby pump. Isolate the faulty breaker & change with new one.
6. Fresh water hydrophore pump worn out
Causes:
Suction pressure will show suction head. Pump will not build any pressure.
Remedial Actions:
Start another pump. Isolate the pump & overhaul it.
